Volunteers are constantly contributing to India’s social development. While volunteering continues in the background, it is somehow absent from the mainstream national psyche. Celebrated annually, the iVolunteer Awards aim to change this by celebrating, rewarding, and promoting volunteering as well as volunteers in India. The Awards recognise the contribution of volunteers and organisations who engage them creating an environment that encourages more people to volunteer. What are the different categories for the Awards? Volunteer Hero — This Award recognizes volunteers who have contributed to and impacted social development through their voluntary work; thus inspiring more people to volunteer. Read more… Leader in Volunteer Engagement —This Award recognizes organisations that engage volunteers strategically, using policies and procedures that are innovative; to advance the organisation’s goals. Read more… What will the iVolunteer Awards winners receive? Volunteer Hero: In recognition of his/her contribution to community development, the Volunteer Hero will receive a certificate and a trophy. The Volunteer Hero will also be mentioned on press releases, awards website and other media and related forums. Leader in Volunteer Engagement: In recognition of their efforts to strategically involve volunteers in community development, the Leader in Volunteer Engagement will receive a trophy, a certificate. The Leader in Volunteer Engagement will also be mentioned on press releases, awards website and other media and related forums. Leader in Employee Volunteering: In recognition of their contribution in setting high standards for promoting employee volunteering the Leader in Employee Volunteering will receive a trophy and a certificate. The Leader in Employee Volunteering will also be mentioned on press releases, awards website and other media and related forums. Youth Champion: In recognition of his/her contribution in setting high standards for promoting employee volunteering the Leader in Employee Volunteering will receive a trophy and a certificate. The Youth Champion will also be mentioned on press releases, awards website and other media and related forums. What is the timeline for the iVolunteer Awards? To apply to the iVolunteer Awards: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ tab on homepage or on the ‘Submit Application’ tab on any of the respective category pages. Fill in the online nomination form latest by July 25, 2018. In case you have any difficulties in completing the form, write to us at awards@iVolunteer.org.in Youth Champion Volunteer Hero Leader in Volunteer Engagement Leader in Employee Volunteering Can volunteers and organisations who applied for previous iVolunteer Awards apply again this year? Yes, apart from the Volunteer Hero and Leader in Volunteer Engagement, all volunteers and organisations are invited to apply to the iVolunteer Awards. What are the geographic regions that apply to the awards? The awards are open to Indian residents only. Who won the iVolunteer Awards 2017? The finalists for the categories Volunteer Hero 2017, Youth Champion 2017, Leader in Volunteer Engagement 2017 and Leader in Employee Volunteering 2017 were announced on the official website as well as the official social media pages. Winners in all the aforementioned categories were announced and the awards were handed over during the iVolunteer Awards Ceremony on October 11, 2017 in Mumbai. The title of Volunteer Hero 2017 was awarded to Krupali Bidaye. The title of Youth Champion 2017 was awarded to Manoj Padaiyachi. The title of Leader in Volunteer Engagement 2017 was awarded to both Voice4Girls as well as Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA). The title of Leader in Employee Volunteering 2017 was awarded to EdelGive Foundation, the strategic philanthropic arm of the Edelweiss Group. Follow us on our social media platforms to learn more about the iVolunteer Awards : How will the winner be chosen? For the Youth Champion category, Volunteer Hero category and the Leader in Volunteer Engagement category: The Awards team will conduct an initial screening of all entries submitted to the iVolunteer Awards. If your entry is selected, then your volunteering experience as an individual or volunteer engagement experience as an organisation will be updated on the iVolunteer Awards website. The five applicant profiles that receive the highest number of votes as well as five profiles shortlisted by a Panel of Experts will be presented to a national jury. The National Jury will then select the Volunteer Hero, Youth Champion, and the Leader in Volunteer Engagement, whose names will be announced at the iVolunteer Awards ceremony. For the Leader in Employee Volunteering category: The Awards Team will conduct an initial screening of all entries submitted to the iVolunteer Awards. Company applications shortlisted by a Panel of Experts will be presented to the national jury. The National Jury will then select the winner in the Leader in Employee Volunteering category whose name will be announced at the iVolunteer Awards ceremony. When will the Finalists be announced? For the Volunteer Hero category, Youth Champion category and the Leader in Volunteer Engagement category: The Finalists will be announced after the Jury & Expert Panel round.
