Santhosh’s assignment ‘Eco Champs’ empower school children and related stakeholders to build a sustainable environment, aligned with UN’s SDG #11, which is about developing sustainable cities and communities. The project focuses on long-term behavioural change in the mindset of children towards good environmental habits, as they are our future leaders. 2700+ school children and their teachers were enlightened about - importance of waste segregation and, installation of segregation bins(green/red) inside every section of grade 6-9 in 15 schools in Chennai. Santhosh
taught them to do simple composting and practice inside school campus with mud pots. 300+ seedballs in each school were created to increase green cover. He also imparts volunteer leadership development as they lead every session at schools. The initiative helped Santhosh put to use his skills in building a more equal society, making earth a better place to live, and to support and to empower all the stakeholders.
